The Society has just bought it's first power car. Driving Motor Brake Second (DMBS) 60122, from unit 205 023 has been acquired by HSUPS. This marks a significant step forward for the Society as it is the first item of stock that will be capable of moving under its own power. It has been transported to Rampart Engineering, Derby where restoration has started.
At the same time the Society has acquired the centre trailer (60668) from the same unit. This vehicle has been moved to secure storage where component recovery will take place prior to scrapping. The Society is progressing with the restoration of another centre trailer (60669) and the recovered spares will assist with this process. Final scrapping is expected to take place in June 2003.
